Climate Fresk Team Building

The principle

Designed by Cédric Ringenbach in 2015, the Climate Fresk is a playful collective intelligence workshop that helps people understand how the climate works. The principle is simple. The workshop consists of a set of 42 cards based on data from the GEIC (French Geological Survey), Intergovernmental Panel on Climate ChangeThe quality of the scientific data makes the activity particularly relevant to real-world situations. Maps include titles such as "rising temperatures," "disruption of the water cycle," and "melting ice." Working in teams, participants must reflect together on the different themes presented on the maps and connect them to create a mural illustrating the causes and consequences of climate change. This workshop is for everyone, as everyone is affected by climate change!

Objectives

The goal? Three hours to create a mural that is both coherent and creative! Indeed, the aim is to understand, through a fun activity, the causes and consequences of this.

By linking the maps together, that is, by tracing the links between the causes and consequences of climate change, participants can, for the first time, take a step back and understand the issues in their entirety, in order to provide keys to understanding in order to act effectively.

The workshop lasts 3 hours with a reflection phase, a creative phase, and an exchange phase.

Reflection : Initially, participants discover the cards, link them together and build the mural by arranging the cards in such a way as to highlight the cause-and-effect relationships that exist between them.

Creativity : In a second stage, the participants take ownership of the mural by adding illustrations, drawings, collages… and by imagining an appropriate title.

Exchange : Finally, the last phase involves sharing overall impressions of the activity. Participants will discuss their understanding of the activity and potential solutions. Through a fun and interactive game, participants can engage in constructive debate.

Results ?

The result is simple. Participants leave the workshop united, motivated, and equipped to create solutions within their reach.
